Is a toy dog harness the same as a cat harness?
I got my kittens toy dog harnesses because I couldnt find any cat ones that would fit a kitten and adjust as they got bigger.
Is that ok?
Do they fit differently?
Yeah they're fine, my kitten has a rabbit harness because cat harnesses didn't fit :]
As long as it has a collar part, and a waist strap joined in the middle,

Do you think a webbing harness is better for the dog+the owner or a standard leather dogs collar and a leash?
I personally think using a well fitted webbing harness[or leather]and a leash is much kinder on the dog,mainly because i noticed that walking the dog using a collar
has a very restrictive effect on the dogs throat and makes breathing difficult which in turn makes the dog pull even more to escape from that sensation,and it cannot be
too good for the dogs throat over time
nor the owners arms and shoulders.
A harness on the other hand spreads the force of the dogs pulling power, over the front of the animals shoulders and around the mid torso, the dogs throat area is left untouched ,and it halves the amount of strenuos pulling along power the dog has on the owners arm and shoulder
making it a much more enjoyable expierence for both of you when out walking with your pet.
What do you currently use to take your dog for a walk?
have you tried the harness but do not rate it much
or found it to be the best thing you ever bought for the dog
or do you prefer the collar and leash.
With our German Shepherd we use a halti - its brilliant, especially when he gets a little excited..he is a very large dog and that allows us to control him without restricting his throat. We could never use a harness on him - he is too strong.
With our Dalsation we have to use a combination of harness and gentle leader (Halti-type lead) and place equal pressure on each. She trys to pull the gentel leader off if it guides her but she is waaaaay too strong for the harness alone. We have found this method is great as she gets confused about which part is restricting her.... and its gentle!!!
Have you ever wondered why they make canine seat belts? Don't we want out puppies to have total freedom in the car? I love my puppy and I know my puppy loves to ride in the car. I just jingle my keys and my dog loses her ever-loving mind running in circles around the door. She loves going for a car ride.
Does hanging the head out the window hurt?
When my dog gets into the car, does it really hurt for my dog to hang her head out the window and let those ears fly? I have a basset hound. Her ears look adorable flapping out the window. Those canine seatbelts only make my little puppy's eyes droop. Am I doing the right thing? You bet I am doing the right thing. My dog may want to hang her head out but she could get seriously injured. Rocks fly, other drivers are nuts, and heaven forbid if we are in an accident she could be in trouble. I love her too much to let anything happen to her. So she wears her seatbelt.
Do seatbelts fit any car?
If the car has seatbelts the canine seatbelt will fit the car. All you need to do is buy a seatbelt for your dog and strap it into your car, your friend's car, or whoever's car you are getting in to. It works very well. Just like a car seat fits any car, so does a canine seatbelt, except canine seatbelts fit even easier.
Are canine seatbelts adjustable?
Absolutely! While you still need to measure your dog, the seatbelts are fully adjustable. I have four different size dogs. Two of them can share a seatbelt but the others are too different to share a seatbelt. Can you imagine a doggy seatbelt that adjusted enough to fit a golden retriever and a toy Chihuahua?
Do I have to change out the seatbelt each time?
Actually, this is the coolest feature. While you can get seatbelts that stay in the car, I like the seatbelts that are leashes too. This way you get the good quality leash that doesn't go around your dog's neck. Those aren't good anyway. The leash goes around your dog's body like a harness. Then when you put your dog into the car, it just snaps right in real easy. This way you can just snap your dog in and be on your way.
Canine seat belts keep your dog safe in the backseat while you drive around. You don't have to worry about them hopping around or accidentally getting in the way. They are easy to use and perfect for even the busiest of dog lovers. I can't imagine taking my dog anywhere without one.
