How do i put on a dog collar properly?
I have a nylon adjustable collar.
Please help!!!
As long as you could put two fingers inbetween the dogs neck and the collar and the collar can't slip over the dogs head; It should be fine.

If your dog goes through collars frequently, you'll appreciate this tutorial. Making an adjustable dog collar is quick and easy. Following these simple steps will have you making a new collar for your dog in no time at all!
You will need some sort of webbing. There are many different kinds like cotton or polypropylene and whatever you choose it just fine. You will need a sewing machine ( a given) and scissors. I have two pairs, one for cutting webbing and a trimming scissors, for cutting the loose threads. The hardware required is a D-ring, a slider lock and a plastic snap. You can scavenge them off of an old adjustable dog collar.
STEP 1 - Cutting The Webbing
If you want to make a medium sized dog collar that will fit dogs with neck sizes that range from 16 to 20 inches, cut a piece of webbing that is 28 inches long. If you want to make a large sized dog collar that will fit dogs with neck sizes that range from 20 inches to 24 inches, cut a piece of webbing that is 32 inches long.
STEP 2 - Sewing On The Slide Lock
Thread the webbing through the slide lock, leaving approximately a two inch piece of webbing on the other end of the slide. Sew two seams, up and down, across the webbing. Triple stitch these seams by using the reverse button on your sewing machine and trim the thread ends.
STEP 3 - Threading The Snap Onto The Webbing Part One
With the fold of the webbing from the slide lock facing OUTWARDS, thread the webbing through the side of the snap that has the single slot. It is important that the curve of the snap is facing downwards.
STEP 4 - Threading The Snap Onto The Webbing Part Two
Now run the webbing through the D-ring. Next, thread the webbing through the first slot and second slots of the other side of the snap. Adjust the webbing so that there is a three inch allowance of webbing to be sewn.
STEP 5 - Sewing The Snap Part One
Take the snap apart and sew a seam as close to the snap as you can. Triple stitch this seam by using your reverse button on the sewing machine.
STEP 6 - Sewing The Snap Part Two
Move the D-ring between the two pieces of webbing , as close to the last seam you have sewn. Sew two seams on the webbing with the snap of the collar facing to the left. This will prevent the D-ring from getting hung up on the sewing machine foot when you are sewing. Now that you have finished sewing the seams, trim all loose threads.
You just made a new collar for your dog! Wasn't that easy?
