If you are thinking of moving into an RV and making it your permanent home, you will run into some different terms during your research.

Resort, Park, Campground.

These words all refer to places to park your RV while living aboard. A RV Resort usually means a full featured campground that has well defined layout with separate parking spaces for the RV. Resorts can range from the plain to the ultra deluxe in accommodations. Resorts have full hookups for your RV and feature deluxe facilities such as a large clubhouse, swimming pool or pools, and many other recreational activities. Many resorts have their own golf course right on the resort grounds. Resorts are at the top of the expense category

A RV Park

This term is used interchangeably with resort. It usually does not imply as deluxe accommodations as a resort.

The facilities are normally not as fancy although most parks will have a clubhouse, pool, and other recreational opportunities. Parks are usually older as the term dated back several years in RV history. They can range from a few hookups on a small piece of ground to a large deluxe facility.

Campground.

Campground usually refers to a public camping area run by a local, state, or federal government. Campgrounds are usually located away from population centers in national forests, state parks, or other recreational areas.

They usually offer few if any hookup ups although many state parks are adding electrical seRVice to the campground. Campgrounds are the oldest and were laid out to accommodate tents and smaller RVs.

RV size limits are common and the access road may be steep and winding.

Campgrounds offer the greatest chance for "getting back to nature." Cost is about the same as the less fancy RV parks

So this is a brief look at the names for RV parking spots. In your travels you will find a wide variety of definitions for these three words.
