Second, another great way to volunteer is to volunteer to work with kids. After school and boys and girls clubs always need volunteers, and nothing can keep you moving as much as playing tag with a bunch of 7 year olds. The energy of kids can give you an amazing cardio-vascular workout without needing to take one step on the treadmill.

Finally, volunteering to help the elderly can be an excellent way to greatly improve someone's life. Often the elderly have difficulty running errands and doing chores around their houses. Helping them grocery shop, move furniture, doing yard work, or other countless daily chores might not seem like a lot to you; but it can make the world of difference for the person you help.
