Fires gut houses; two families left homeless
WAILUKU- Two families are homeless after fires gutted homes in Waiehu and Kahului on Friday morning. In Kahului around 10:05 a.m., two children and at least one adult escaped without injury after their older single-story home at 150 Kuhuoi St. caught on fire, fire officials said.

There are some diseases that you can never afford to turn a blind eye to and kennel cough is just one of them. You know, this cough affects dogs yet it is very contagious and highly infectious. Also known as trachoebronchitis, it is common especially among dogs that live in kennels. The worse it gets, the more hostile your dog becomes and the more endangered your life could be. You do not want to take the risk, do you? So let us see how to go about treating kennel cough.
If your dog is on its way to getting the kennel cough, you will notice a few symptoms like coughing accompanied by a hoarse sound or a sneeze that has some nasal discharge. This discharge turns yellow if the cough is in its advanced stages. Your dog is more likely to get infected if it mostly travels to attend dog shows.
So, how do we go about treating kennel cough? Lets begin by noting that there are two types of treatment that you can go for. If the disease is not in its advanced stages, then you can give the dog a cough suppressant like Prednisone and then leave the cough to heal on its own, but make sure that you feed the canine in the right manner so that it stays strong and active.
The second way is to put the dog under full dose of antibiotics if and only if the cough is in its chronic stages. The most common ant biotic used for treating kennel cough is tetracycline. At this level suppressants should be avoided at all costs. In addition you could use bronchodilators and aerosol therapy which will prove very helpful.
