Where can I get a nice mesh/padded harness for a German shepherd?
We've just bought a beautiful white german shepherd bitch and I'm jusdt loving her! Want to start taking her for walks once she's had her second injection but cant seem to find any prretty or comfy looking harnesses for a dog this size, they all seem to be 4 toy breeds, which seems a bit ironic as surely harnesses aren't as vital for smaller dogs. Anyway, can anyone help?
Get her a Gentle Leader, and she'll learn to walk nicely right away without pulling on anything - you don't really want to put a harness on a large breed puppy.
The reason they make harnesses for small dogs is that their tracheas can be very soft, and some breeds have a tendency towards collapsing tracheas. There are also the small bully breeds, which have upper respiratory probelms and very strong necks.
